May. 20 - May. 22 Noon - 8pm The Dinomobile If you're looking for some family fun during the Victoria Day weekend, visit the land before time at Donald M. Gordon Chinguacousy Park by exploring the Royal Ontario Museum's celebrated Dinomobile display.
The Dinomobile is a 60-foot mobile dinosaur gallery, divided into four major exhibit areas housing two-dimensional and three-dimensional displays. The Dinomobile will be open to the public from Saturday, May 20, to Monday, May 22, at the Chinguacousy Park Curling Club parking lot from noon to 8 p.m. each day. Admission is $3 per person or $10 for a family of four. By showing a Brampton Guardian advertisement, get $1 off admission.
Parents and children can closely examine the head of a Triceratops or compare the similarities between birds and dinosaurs. The experience is enhanced by reconstructed habitats and sounds scientists believe the dinosaurs made. Each display is supported by English and French text describing: the dinosaur's size, excavations in Canada, body armour, head crests, hunting strategies and extinction theories.
The exhibit also features reconstruction of full-size dinosaurs, such as the Albertosaurus, Ornithomimus and the Dromaeosaurs. Two graphic characters, Haddie the Hadrosaur and Albert the Albertaosaurus, appear throughout the trailer, posing questions for the viewers to answer as they move through the exhibit.
Campbell Amusements features rides and entertainment at the park from noon to 11 p.m., Thursday to Monday. There is a cost involved with Campbell Amusements – a privately owned and operated business.
