The City of Brampton Concert Band will be holding its annual fundraising event, “Blarney We're Goin' to Killarney” -Pub Night and Silent Auction on Saturday, May 12, 2007 at 7:00 pm in the Brampton City Hall Atrium, located at 2 Wellington Street West, Brampton. This event promises to be an enjoyable evening and a great opportunity to support our organization as we embark on our plans to travel to Killarney, Ireland to participate in the prestigious World Association of Symphonic Bands Ensembles (WASBE) conference in July of this year. Our tour will also include a number of other performances in the area surrounding Killarney and a concert on the bandstand at "St. Stephen's Green" as part of the Dublin Summer Music Fest 2007 (the largest outdoor concert venue in Ireland). To raise funds for this trip we will be hosting a fascinating evening of music and entertainment with an Irish flair. "Blarney We're Goin' to Killarney", opens with a musical performance by the band and also features the following Irish entertainers: the Paula Woodgate Irish Dancers, Frankie Benson and The Wild Geese

Holland Canada Chorus
The Holland Canada Chorus (Holland Canada Koor) has been composed specially to make a trip to Canada. All members are singing in one of the choirs of Hans de Wit who is the director of 8 choirs in Holland. The invitation to come to Canada is from a Canadian woman we met in Prague during a choir festival in May 2005. Kees Hoogenboom and Wim Spoormaker, both living in a small town near Rotterdam, worked out a plan to see if it's realistic to go to Canada with a lot of people. With the director Hans de Wit they put together a repertoire with a lot of variety in the songs to sing. The results of this plan is that we are coming to Canada with 120 people of which 100 singers. The Holland Canada Chorus is a choir of 100 Mixed Voices. We know that in Canada people do like choral songs and that's why we choose for a wide variety of songs. The Holland Canada Chorus will sing songs in Dutch, English, German, French and in Latin.
