Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead
Did Tom Stoppard write this play on a lark, or did he want us to give thought to these two Shakespearean bit-players, as they try to find out how they fit in? This is a funny play, funnier still if you know the play Hamlet, and it is presented in modern English. The play's clever premise is that two characters from Hamlet, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern, are stuck on the stage waiting for their cue to enter the play Hamlet. Since they are characters and not people, they have no memory of how they got there or where they are from-they are defined only by what they know, based upon what Shakespeare wrote about them. If you like to laugh, and you like to think, this is a play that you will really enjoy.

Friday Folk Night: An Olde English Christmas
"An Olde English Christmas", featuring two groups, the traditional group Nonesuch and the A Cappella trio Triangl. Experience Christmas music as you've never heard it before, as we travel back in time to England of centuries past. Nonesuch is a Cambridge, Ontario based folk group that performs traditional folk music of the British Isles, along with music from other sources such as France, Belgium, Galicia and Brittany. Nonesuch approaches its material in a unique way; English Morris jigs rub shoulders with Irish reels, an air from the 16th century may be paired with a hornpipe of the 19th, all in the special Nonesuch style. Triangl features three British ex-patriots singing traditional English folk songs in rousing 3-part harmonies. Together, these trios will present an unforgettable concert of traditional carols.
