Oct. 19 - Oct. 21 There Goes the Bride When harassed advertising executive Timothy Westerby hits his head on the morning of his daughter's society wedding, he awakes to find himself in the company of Polly Perkins, a 1920's Flapper girl straight out of his current advertising campaign. It soon becomes all too clear that no-one else can see or hear her, and when another bump on the head transports Timothy back to 1926 and the Savoy hotel, the carefully planned wedding preparations disintegrate into chaos as friends and family attempt to lead Timothy back to reality and his daughter down the aisle before the newly arrived 'In-Laws' abandon the wedding. 'A fiendishly clever farce that gets madder and funnier as it goes along.' Tickets: Thursday $12, Friday & Saturday $14 Lester B. Pearson Theatre 416-200-2142 |

October 21 - Saturday 11am – 3pm Habitat for Humanity Festival & Concert Habitat for Humanity Brampton will be featuring “Bands for Building a Better Brampton' during their ReStore Harvest Festival on October 21st. The non-profit group will be hosting an outdoor bluegrass music concert in order to raise funds for Habitat Brampton, increase awareness of its ReStore facility and recruit volunteers. Habitat ReStores sell donated building products.
The concert features Hard Ryde, a group of five extraordinary musicians who together make up one of Canada's top bluegrass bands. The group has won Best Vocal Group, Best Instrumental Group and Best Overall Group of the year from various bluegrass associations. Hard Ryde's music is straightforward and soulful with the uncommon ability to capture the essence and passion of the genre. The second group is Brampton's own award-winning, General Store. General Store features a mix of new and traditional bluegrass vocals and instrumentals, as well as gospel numbers featuring exceptionally smooth four-part harmonies. The band has collected Most Promising Band of the Year and Bluegrass Gospel Group of the Year awards.
